What kind of wine is in the Cellar?
Mostly bottles that are harder to find on a neighborhood shelf. That means classic regions like Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Piedmont and Tuscany, plus California, Oregon, Germany and Spain. You can browse by color, region, grape or country, and each page narrows down to the bottles that match.
How do I pick a wine to age?
Look for wines with high acidity, firm tannin or both, from producers with a track record. Classic examples are Barolo, Brunello di Montalcino, Bordeaux, top Burgundy, German Riesling and vintage Champagne. Most other wines are made to drink within a few years of the vintage.
How should I store a bottle until I open it?
Lay bottles with corks on their side, somewhere dark and cool, ideally around 55°F and away from heat or a sunny window. Keep the temperature steady. A closet floor works for months, and a wine fridge is worth it if you plan to keep bottles for years.
